The Westbury Fire Department is hosting a Radiation Operations course Nov. 4 th 6pm to 10pm/Nov. 5 th 8am x 6p/Nov 6 th 8am x 6pm taught by CTOS, at the WFD H.Q 355 Maple Ave., Westbury NY.
The prerequisite is Radiation Awareness this is will be available at WFD Sunday Oct. 16 th Starting at 11am and a second opportunity Wed. Oct. 19 th starting at 6:30pm,

Terrorism and Insurgency Centre global attack index - September 2011
In September, there was a total of 928 attacks recorded worldwide from open sources by Jane's Terrorism and Insurgency Centre (JTIC), equating to 30.9 attacks per day, a notable 15.6% decrease from the 36.6 attacks per day in August. Between August and September, significant escalations in operational tempo were recorded in Bangladesh (one to seven), Gaza and the West Bank (10 to 35), Myanmar (four to 11), Nepal (10 to 21), the Philippines (23 to 32) and Turkey (24 to 41)

More claims have emerged that the Nigerian group known as Boko Haram has established links with Al-Qaeda-affiliated jihadists operating elsewhere in Africa. However, unlike those groups, the Nigerian Islamist militants are not regularly releasing statements and videos to jihadist internet forums
