Drug Testing Services

Ten percent of employees in many industries have illicit drugs in their systems at any time. One person in ten in Ohio, Oklahoma, New York, California or anywhere in this great land can test positive for drugs. Drug usage is an epidemic in American society.

ICI recognizes how substance abuse can effect the workplace and advises employers to implement a drug test program to create a safe, drug free workplace.

• ICI offers on-site drug testing, saving companies money lost from down time while an employee is away from the workplace taking a drug test.
• ICI offer the innovative oral fluid drug testing.
Oral fluid drug screen is a laboratory-based test that detects commonly-used drugs of abuse like marijuana (THC), cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP), amphetamines and ecstasy (MDMA) with the same quality, accuracy and reliability of traditional urine testing. Oral fluid provides an efficient, dignified and directly observable collection. Oral fluid samples can be collected anytime, anywhere and can significantly reduce the possibility of tampering and adulteration.
To collect a sample, the donor places a collection pad between lower cheek and gum for two minutes. The collection pad is then sealed in a specimen vial and sent to the lab for analysis. Negative results are reported within 24 hours upon receipt at the lab, and positive results are available within 72 hours.
• ICI coordinates random employee testing - the employees could be randomly selected (using an industry accepted random selection process) for drug testing.
• ICI associated laboratories are held up to the highest standards in the industry and hold a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Certification from the Department of Health and Human Services and maintain all required state and federal certifications.

Why is it important to have a Drug Testing Program?
The main problem drug usage creates is accidents and a workforce that is likely to be involved with poor performance on the job and safety issues. Workers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol:

– Increase accidents - 3.6 times more likely to injure themselves or another person in a workplace accident.
– 5 times more likely to be injured in a job accident, this, in turn, affects attendance and performance on the job.
– Increase absenteeism - 2.5 times more likely to have absences of eight Pre-employment drug screening
– Increase medical claims - 5 times more likely to file a worker's compensation claim.
